A good article that I got from Mumbai Mirror, how about that for an achievement? But then even bigger, mind blowing, mind boggling, note worthy achievement is of 2012 in India. Just read this:
2012 - 14.75 crore
2012 Pralay Ki Shuruaat - 21 crore
2012 Yugantham - 8 crore
2012 Rudram- 7 crore
2012 Total - 50.75 crore (Including all dubbed versions)
Now even better quote:
"2012 is heading for near 70 crore nett business from all its versions. The Hollywood film may have not done great business at home but is the biggest blockbuster everfrom Hollywood in India."
2012 is all set to become the highest grossing HW movie in India, and in such short duration of time, leaving behind Titanic, Spiderman 3.
What words o wisdom from Mumbai Mirror:
“If Bollywood wants to compete with Hollywood, both here and abroad, they have to spend these 100-crore budgets in making the movie. If stars take away 95 crores, then you have to make 2012 in your living room, with two stars talking to each other. If that’s what we keep doing, we are finished.”
What 2012 has done in India needs to be seen and take note of. If really BW needs to compete, they better start working on it NOW, because as I see it, HW will just get bigger and bigger.
for now my question is, how much you think Avatar will do?
