Aakhari Decision - Curtain raiser

Dharmendra is my inspiration!

Lights, camera, action! These three words have enticed many NRIs to become a part of the Bollywood brigade and the latest entrant in the filmy marquee is the handsome NRI Amar Sidhu.

Amar, who is from LA, will be seen in the forthcoming action-thriller Aakhri Decision. “Despite being raised in the USA, I grew up watching Bollywood films and always wanted to be a part of it,” says Amar. However, contrary to a regular start where a director decides the script and then signs an actor for the film, with Amar things have been quite different. Apparently, it was Amar who went ahead signing director Deepak Kumar Bandhu, who has been a part of many acclaimed films like Monsoon Wedding, Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi, Parzania, Haasil, Matrubhoomi, etc. “The screenplay of Aakhri Decision has been written by me and Rohit Karan Batra. Initially, I wasn’t sure of turning it into a film, however, when I met Deepak I was convinced by his confidence on thescreenplay and eventually both of us worked things out.”

Ask him about his inspiration in Bollywood and he says, “I still enjoy the classic Hindi films and am a huge fan of Dharmendraji. I feel he has the charm which no other actor would ever achieve. Today’s lot is a lot inclined on song and dance, however, like Dharamji I would love to make my name as a power-packed action hero!”

  2. I am sorry but at first look this one seems like a cheap C-grade thriller to me. I am constantly amazed at how little critics know of actual film-making, and film-makers know of film criticism! Cuts both ways.

  4. I am speechless at the plot! How many English language novels has this one ripped off in the storyline? It was also extremely amusing to see the hero in his arms outstretched pose (like a cheap imitation of Shahid's imitation of SRK's signature pose) about 15 times in the 30 seconds that I saw.

  9. I guess production value of the project looks pretty good.
Story is confusing, may be it translates better on screen. Deepak guy seems to have pretty good resume. I think it will do good, it seems pretty ok.
Best of luck to Q and Rohit and whole team of AD, seems like a winner, hope it turns out to be the same.
