We have been pushing for Ranbir Kapoor as Bollywood’s Hero No. 1 for a while (the t2 cover story above is dated November 16, 2009). The Khans are past their prime, Hrithik is inconsistent, Imran is not versatile enough and Shahid’s movie choices are bizarre. That leaves the extraordinary son of Rishi Kapoor in a league of his own.

It was after Bachna Ae Haseeno in August 2008 that we first alerted the other heroes in tinsel town. Calling him “Kapoor ho to aisa”, we hailed Ranbir as “the man who will rule your hearts in years to come” . He sure hasn’t failed us.

In December 2009 we picked Ranbir as the Man of the Year. After Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Rocket Singh, we didn’t have an option really. And we are now betting on RK being ‘the man of the year’ for many years to come.
