Hollywood adaptations of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and sequels now have a name in the cast!
Remember a few months back when MGM announced that it was putting its James Bond movie franchise on indefinite hold, and some silly blog
came up with advice for its star while he waited for the situation to resolve itself? Turns out he didn’t need our help.
Daniel Craig, who has played 007 in his last two on-screen adventures, will set aside his license to kill so he can play Mikael Blomkvist in an English-language remake of “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,”
The Hollywood Reporter said.
David Fincher (“Fight Club,” “The Social Network”) will direct the movie, adapted from that best-selling thriller by
Stieg Larsson, and Mr. Craig has been signed for potential film versions of “The Girl Who Played With Fire” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest,” which have also been made into films in Mr. Larsson’s native Sweden. Before you ask, no casting was immediately announced for the all-important role of Blomkvist’s hacker sidekick, Lisbeth Salander.
