Why Khatta Meetha will be a hit

Khatta Meetha, latest "blockbuster" of Akshay Kumar to hit theaters on Friday. While everyone is hoping that fate of this "blockbuster" doesn't turn out to be like recent "blockbusters" of King Kumar, here I am, sure that it won't happen, and infact this "blockbuster" might end up becoming a blockbuster. And no, I am not Akshay Kumar, or paid by him for that matter.

1) Trailers: Promos of the movie play a big part in getting footfall in theaters in opening weekend, and I think KM has hit the bulls eye with that. They show Akshay Kumar predominantly, his comic timing, his dialogue delivery, his mannerisms, audience get a quick feel of the movie, and the humor is there, I guess it will attract people.

2) King Kumar: True that Akshay is not coming off a great BO run, but his fan following is still tough to beat, Housefull took an opening of 47 crs week, De dana dan had a good opening of 23 cr weekend, this one as well is expected to open well.

3) Actor-Director: If Housefull's biggest asset was Akki-Sajid combo coming after a successful Hey Baby, Priyaarshan-Akki have given huge number of hits. We can expect audience to lap up this effort of Akki-Priyan as well, even if there is n Katreena this time.

4) Trisha: Though it is her debut Hindi movie (?), she still is a recognized face in South, and honestly, nothing less than Katrina in looks. Honestly, from whatever little I saw of her in trailers, she is looking perfect for the kind of role she is playing, she is as glamorous in songs as she is simple yet gracefully gorgeous in sares, plus her Hindi seems to be lot better.

5) Youth of India: This demographic which, I guess, forms the biggest chunk of audience, spl in multiplexes, seems to be tad bit impressed with anything remotely "issue based", but at the same time movie should retain all the jokes and "funny" part in it, example, 3I, and KM seems to be exactly that kind of movie. With the story of a road contractor who is very much a part of red tapeism he seems to be complaining about, sounds like an interesting premise. Add Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Priyan and Akki, it promises to be a fun flick, btw even Kulbhushan Kharbanda seems to be playing a funny man, yeah same Shakal from Shaan.

6) Marathi: Not sounding to be communal or anything, but I think Maharashtra has a huge contribution in gross of every movie, and KM being rich in Marathi flavor is expected to draw Marathi manoos in full force. MNS has proven that Marathi people tend to support their culture, and influx of so many Marathi based TV serials (Yeah yeah, I just caught the trailers) also show the increasing number of audience which probably connects with that culture.

So heres wishing all the best to Akki Kumar, and nana chi taang to all his doubters.
