Bollywood movies have everything- comedy, singing, dark secrets, dancing, melodrama, love stories, underdogs overcoming obstacles, fights, and sometimes even magic. It’s a multi-billion dollar industry, spawning huge celebrities and massively popular hit songs, and yet most Americans don’t know their "Aitraaz" from their “Apne”.

Unlike Hollywood, where starlets just have to look pretty in movies and be seen in public wearing short skirts, Bollywood starlets have to sing, dance, act, speak multiple languages, and look pretty. If all you know of Indian cinema is Slumdog Millionaire, here’s your introductory lesson in the ten gorgeous Bollywood starlets that could replace American starlets any day of the week. Jai Ho!

1. Bollywood Starlet: Katrina Kaif



Replacing: Megan Fox

Why she’s a spicy dish: Katrina is the newest sex bomb of India, mainly known for her glamour roles (which is a Bollywood term referring to romantic parts in films, usually playing the object of affection). She was raised in Hong Kong, Hawaii, and England, but never lived in India until adulthood, and she does not speak Hindi, a fact that irritates a lot of Indian fans. She’s been in a lot of films, some hits, and some bombs, but the fans love her no matter what.

2. Bollywood Starlet: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan



Replacing: Angelina Jolie

Why she’s a spicy dish: Aishwarya is a former Miss World, has been in over 40 movies, and is often described as “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World”. She is one of the few Bollywood stars that has been in an American movie (Pink Panther 2). She’s also appeared on “The Martha Stewart Show” and “The Tyra Show”. Aishwarya is well known for her humanitarian work, and is often thought of more as a brand than an actress. When you put Aishwarya in a movie, you’re getting an Aishwarya movie.

3. Bollywood Starlet: Priyanka Chopra



Replacing: Rachel McAdams

Why she’s a spicy dish: Priyanka is also a former Miss World, so of course she’s gorgeous. She is one of the most popular actresses in India, despite starring in several flops, but in all of those flops she’s usually playing the love interest. It’s when she plays gritty, villainous characters that the film succeeds. She’s best known for her role as a hustling, ambitious model who will do anything for success in “Fashion”.
