Looks whos leading the new releases in India: and I swear its not a surprise
The new releases, notable among them being Percept's AASHAYEIN and Mukta Arts' HELLO DARLING, opened to poor houses. The opening and noon shows ranged from bad to dismal. However, AVATAR, which has been revived in theatres with never-before-seen footage, had a better start than all Hindi films and is expected to be the first choice of moviegoers this weekend.

Damn, looks like people preferred a blue (naavi) movie instead of our new releases
ReplyDeleteThe seven releases this week have all fared badly at the box office. There were many cancellations of shows across the country.
ReplyDeleteAashayein had the best collections out of all the releases but still the collections were very poor. Aashayein collected nearly 2 crore nett over the weekend.
Next came Hello Darling which was around the 1.50 crore nett mark while the rest like Antardwand, Geng, Gumshada, Madholal Keep Walking and Soch Lo were washouts with collections in lakhs. This makes it very easy for We Are Family to get a big Thursday release as exhibitors will readily take of this weeks releases a day earlier if they managed to stay at the theatres until then.
