This can be classified as Indian sports day, all headlines were from the sports of a nation whose sporting culture can be only next to nothing.
Somdev got his gold in tennis, India's new heart throb, Sushil Kumar won his gold in wrestling, and yep, the star of boxing, Vijendra Singh, beat the crap out of his opponent to get his place in semi-finals. Indian hockey team played their hearts out in a packed stadium, while thrashing Pakistan 7-4. In first 20 minutes we were already 4-0 up, but then put off our foot from gas and by halftime were leading 4-2. A goal early in second half made the scoreline 5-2, and somehow dampened Paki spirits. Game finished with an infant proudly cheering for team India.
Even the cricket fans got something to cheer about, Sachin Tendulkar got his 14000 runs with a shot for the boundary. The shortest biggest idol for Indians, currently at 44 against Aus, was seen in a good nick. But in the day dominated by CWG games, biggest news came from cricket only, BBCI in an audacious step, has terminated the teams of Punjab and Rajasthan from IPL. At the same time, most expensive IPL team, Kochi, has been given some more time to clear the mess or they can kiss the league title goodbye before it even begins. Poor Yuvraj, I say....
So, BW and cricket, it seems, are getting separated, its just now SRK in the cluster#uck called, IPL.
I said it longtime back that IPL is a mess . BCCI is just proving it . Kochi will get entry . Punjab and Rajasthan were cancelled because they were close to Lalit Modi . BCCI instead of cleaning IPL is just trying to clean Modi from it . Also IPL looks like is just a way to convert black money to white it seems.

ReplyDeleteThey cannot Nia . I think this will be a legal battle and may result in stay on IPL . BCCI in trying to take revenge is losing it . they need to kick Srinivasan out who is responsible for most of mess.

ReplyDeleteyes they cannot touch other teams . only one they can in some ways is KKR but here too with Jay mehta and his connections i doubt it . Same with Srk and his Gandhi family connections .
