Aisha opened to a poor response with 30-35% collections at multiplexes this morning. The collections in the afternoon did not show much improvement and were at a similar level.
The film may have improvement at select multiplexes of cities like Mumbai, Delhi NCR and Bangalore over the weekend but is unlikely to make much impact in other centres.
The film has low costs so producers should make money due to satellite rights bringing in big money but theatrical business is likely to below the mark unless collections show big improvement on Saturday and Sunday..
Aisha had business of nearly 3 crore nett day one. Although business was low at most theatres, the high grossing multiplexes in Mumbai city, Delhi NCR, Punjab and Bangalore collected well and took it to a respectable day one total. The film its best business in Delhi city due to the film having Delhi feel and the distributors PVR giving it best screens and timings in theie chain. Despite not encouraging reports the film can have a 10 crore nett weekend if the big multiplexes remain at the same level for the weekend. The territorial breakdown is as follows.
ReplyDeleteMumbai - 1 crore
Delhi/UP - 90 lakhs
East Punjab - 31 lakhs
West Bengal - 10 lakhs
CP Berar - 7 lakhs
CI - 5 lakhs
Rajasthan - 8 lakhs
Nizam - 10 lakhs
Mysore - 20 lakhs
Others - 10 lakhs
TOTAL - 2.91 crore

Kinda poor start despite all the hype, I would say.
ReplyDeleteAlso I think movie is having bad WOM, so do not expect much from it....
Aisha did fairly well over the weekend with business in the 10.50 crore nett range. The film did not have great reports but still managed to put up decent weekend numbers.
ReplyDeleteThe figures were helped a lot by high end multiplexes giving good collections. The PVR chain who are also the co producers had very good collections as they gave the film plenty of screen time and have huge domination in the area where Aisha did best which is Delhi NCR. The PVR chain collected around 2 crore nett which is 20% of its all India business, normally PVR chain is around 10% of a movies al India business.
Apart from the Delhi/NCR are the film also did well in Bangalore and select cities of Punjab. Aisha should do around 15 crore nett over its first week which would be a very good result for the film.

And big thanks to Delhi for those numbers I guess, Punjabis love to shop and play match makers, OFC this was a big hit among them :P
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's bad for a female-oriented movie with no big male star. It didn't cost a lot either as far as I know. But I guess Doga and all the box office experts would know better.
ReplyDeleteAisha grossed 10.25 crore nett approx over the weekend. The territorial breakdown is as follows. The film outperformed in Delhi/UP and Mysore. Mumbai and East Punjab were also fairly good but other circuits were poor.
