Khatta Meetha Box Office "Overseas" Updated

Now after trailers and reviews, most important is BO, and they say numbers never lie....
We trust only BOI, so will post numbers only from there, unless our in house BO experts have any objection...

Khatta Meetha is a big disappointment Overseas.  One of Akshay Kumar's lowest openers in UK, USA, and Australia

Review: ‘Khatta Meetha’ fails to set the Box Office on fire

Source: Komal Nahata

Plot: Akshay is a road contractor who dreams big but doesn’t have the resources to realise his dreams. His task becomes all the more difficult because the new municipal commissioner turns out to be his ex-girlfriend, Trisha.
What’s Good: Some comedy sequences, a couple of songs.
What’s Bad: The very convenient screenplay.
Verdict: Khatta Meetha is for the masses and the single-screen audience, not so much for the multiplex audience.
Loo break: A couple of them, post-interval.

What failed Khatta Meetha

I read quite a few reviews posted here  these are the things which I think people complained about the most

1) Trisha, she seems like one of the major flops of the movie. according to all reviewers though she came late, and has little to do, she failed even in that. May be it was her acting, or the fact that she was in saree, I don;t know, but she was not accepted by anyone.

Why Khatta Meetha will be a hit

Khatta Meetha, latest "blockbuster" of Akshay Kumar to hit theaters on Friday. While everyone is hoping that fate of this "blockbuster" doesn't turn out to be like recent "blockbusters" of King Kumar, here I am, sure that it won't happen, and infact this "blockbuster" might end up becoming a blockbuster. And no, I am not Akshay Kumar, or paid by him for that matter.

Akshay says Nana-chi Taang!

We all know Akshay Kumar's excellent Marathi speaking skills and this time he is putting it to good use for his upcoming comedy KHATTA MEETHA.

Akshay will be seen singing 'Nana-chi Taang' (which means 'Teri aisi ki taisi' in Hindi) along with his co-star, newcomer Trisha.

This new Jodi will swing to tune of Pritam, which combines the melody of rock with a tinge of our very own Maharashtrian tadka.

Akshay plays a Marathi manus named 'Sachin Tichkule' in this comic caper directed by Priyadarshan. Trisha, who plays Akshay's love interest in this movie, has done many south projects and will be debuting in Bollywood with this film.

According to Bhushan Kumar of T-series this song will be the biggest hit of the year.

Akshay will without doubt rock the screen with this number. From a Punjabi munda to a Marathi mulga...we surely can't wait to check out this new avatar of Akshay!

First Look - Patiala House

From London bike rides to hopping onto theunderground and moreover taking a dive on a helicopter, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Akshay Kumar is having the ride of his life in the big city.

Currently in the UK for the filming of Nikhil Advani’s, Patiala House, Akshay has had a welcome break from the congestion and chaos of Mumbai streets, quite an irony when Akshay’s character in his forthcoming blockbuster release Khatta Meetha is that of a corrupt, Mumbai-based roadwork contractor.

Khatta Meetha is presented by the super comic jodi of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan, delivering a hilarious satire revolving around the mayhem of Mumbai’s roadworks and transport system.

Touted as Akshay’s best comic performance to date, the superstar, who recently delivered one of the biggest hits of 2010 to date with Houseful, eagerly anticpates the film’s worldwide release, guaranteeing audiences a crazy and comic ride through the streets of Mumbai.
