KWK had been plodding along this season, starting with a mind-numbingly dull episode and barely warming up a bit with the Ranbir Kapoor Imran Khan episode. And then came the two women, little less than three years old in the industry, but ready to speak their minds about a lot of issues! Suddenly KWK got jolted out of the doldrums and into the realm of funny and interesting. I think the show was not at all what the host had envisioned and he was often caught off guard with some of the candid answers.
They say hell hath no fury greater than that of a woman scorned. And here were two women who showed their claws when it came to many issues.
Issue 1 – Ranbir Kapoor: Deepika made it quite clear he had cheated on her and she said that loud and clear and mentioned she had never taken it back. So that recent “retraction” attributed to her was a PR job? It does not take much to figure out where that one might have originated! One could dismiss this as sour grapes, but Sonam called Ranbir absolutely NOT boyfriend material! Meow! The worst dig was when both ladies labeled him the LEAST sexy of the lot in a list of men provided to them by the host. Thankfully they did not diss his acting ability or his potential superstardom. But his persona took a beating, when he was told t endorse a condom brand by Deepika and Sonam agreed.
Issue 2 – Shobha De: No tact was used when Shobha was discussed. Deepika took the high road and said people who have a forum that they can write in, should do it with decorum, even when they criticize. Sonam pulled no punches and called Shobha a writer of BAD books, and one who indulges in cronyism.
Issue 3 – Katrina Kaif: Deepika asked to see her passport, and called her a senior in the industry thus alluding to the mystery about Katrina’s origins and her age. Both girls listed Kareena first and Katrina last in acting ability in a list of stars they were given. Hard to argue with that!
Issue 4 – Aishwarya Rai: Deepika did not have much to say about this issue but Sonam did, never quite denying the kerfuffle at Cannes last year with the Loreal red carpet affair. As a real dig she said that Aish must be Ok with her because she was in a film with Abhi, thus suggesting that Abhi’s co-stars are vetted by his wife!

ReplyDeleteDid anyone miss RK saying he asked DP about it over the phone and DP said she wasnt talking about him etc and later DP said to KJO yeah thats true?
Overall,its a big hack/tamasha.
Who cheated whom, what matters?
All of them have perhaps had 4-5 relationships till now and will continue to have one new every 2-3 years as is the norm, until they get married around in mid 30's and so on.(both male and female actresses)
Till then, there will be speculations from both sides(pro and con) depending on who likes whom more.
Even Rk is not denying cheating part . the thing is everyone knows who cheated in it . Its just that RK fans will say deepika was insecure blah blah to defend him.
ReplyDeleteI do not think the truth matters here at all! What matters is that the two ladies really went after him for al they were worth, without being overtly vicious! "He is a friend" was the chant.

Rishi Kapoor flays Sonam, Deepika
The Koffee With Karan episode featuring Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor which aired last Sunday is threatening to spoil the relations between the Kapoors and the host Karan Johar.
The two actresses, who have both been linked to Ranbir Kapoor, took potshots at the actor throughout the show and this has angered his parents and extended family like his aunt Rima Jain.
Sonam declared Ranbir as unsexy, and that she had seen it all during the shooting of Saawariya when he dropped the towel for the infamous scene, and wasn't interested anymore. She also ridiculed his fashion sense. And let Deepika know that she found it admirable that Deepika held on to Kapoor for so long. Ending by saying that Ranbir badly needed a stylist and that he is a terrible boyfriend and he can never stay faithful.
When KJo asked her what she'd like to give Ranbir Kapoor, she said: a box of condoms. Hinting at his over-active libido or an unfortunate incident with one of his girlfriends? Your guess is as good as ours. When asked to rate him in sex appeal, the former girlfriend put him last on her list. She also said that that if she woke up as RK someday, she'd go back to sleep. She also made digs at him for cheating on her. The piece de resistance was when she revealed that once, when RK was at KJo's house, her ex was offered a glass of juice and a silk robe by his maid.
Some people who saw the episode felt the two actresses had gone overboard with their opinion on Ranbir. Naturally RK's parents are upset. Rima and Neetu are currently on a holiday in New York and haven't seen the show but they got calls from "well-wishers" from India who informed them about the fun poked at the Kapoor lad.
An industry source reveals, "Neetu was so mad when she heard what the two actresses had said she called up Karan and fired him for allowing that kind of talk on the show." Rishi Kapoor makes no bones about hiding his hurt and anger.
Although he claims he hasn't seen the show, he admits, "We definitely feel cheated and hurt. My wife and sister are in New York and they were very upset when they heard about the show. Neetu was very hurt and upset and she spoke to Karan about it. We didn't expect this from him because Karan happens to be a close friend but he instigated both the girls to say all those things!"
A disturbed Rishi said: "We've done so much for Karan... We have gone twice on his show. We even gave bytes for the show featuring Imran and Ranbir out of pure love for Karan.
In return, what does he do? Provoke guests on his show to get better TRPs? There's no respect for relationships. Neetu and I go on his shows out of love for him. He gets paid for the show while we do it for love and affection. Karan shouldn't do this to us or all the Kapoors will severe ties with him and not work with him."

This was a fun episode unlike the previous two. The answers by two ladies confirmed the philanderer ways of Ranbir. Nothing wrong in that if he gave same liberty to other side but Rishi should just shut up.

ReplyDeleteBeyond a certain point one should be careful about what and how much they speak on a public platform.
Now yes, most of them are considered Bhaand/Nautankiwala's by the general public at large and most of what they say or do is not taken that seriously(how else can we explain Sanjay Dutt/Salman Khan still sustaining), but there is a point where it can become detrimental too.
Example, Salman-Ash-Vivek controversy.
Salman might be the person who did most of the bad action,Ash might be the one who manipulated etc, but Vivek was the one who came infront of media live and so on.

Russell Brand is one of those guys who will make u laugh just by looking at him .
ReplyDeleteDoga,you're right. Nobody takes stars seriously and I think they are expected to fall low on a morality scale by just about everyone anyway. Their personal lives are the same as their careers aka entertainment for the masses.
