Now that the last controversy around the author accusing Rajkumar Hirani of plagiarism has run its course, filmmakers are being extra cautious.
Bhagat was once rather bitter that Hirani’s blockbuster, 3 Idiots, was allegedly lifted from his book Five Point Someone. Perhaps this development might put a smile on his chirpy face.
Siddharth Anand is all set to make his next film with Saif Ali Khan, which is based on Chetan Bhagat’s latest bestseller 2 States. This time, Anand has bought the rights.

Two perfect pieces that made my morning!
First I read this gem - stupendous! I do not know who gets the award - should it be for creative journalism or stupidity in film-making?

WhenKareena Kapoor returns from the schedule of Agent Vinod in Latvia around mid September, she has a lot of cleaning up to do. Her best friend, filmmaker Karan Johar, who loves Bebo to distraction, has ordered her to empty her wardrobe.
Karan jokes, “I have asked her to throw out all her old clothes and fill her wardrobe with chaddis (he means shorts) and other skimpy outfits. She has to sport a short haircut and I also want her to try and get herself into a size minus (not a size zero) because she has to match Imran Khan perfectly for my film tentatively titled Short Term Shaadi.”
Post Diwali, Bebo may actually think of making a trip to Paris and London accompanied by designer Manish Malhotra to get herself a totally new wardrobe that will consist of LBDs, chaddis and other equally seductive clothes.

Abhishek to act in remake of Achanak - breaking news!!!

Director Shoojit Sircar, who last made the film Yahaan in 2005, is now planning a remake of Gulzar’s 1973 hit, Achanak. The director is in talks with Abhishek Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan for the roles that were earlier essayed by Vinod Khanna and Om Puri.
The film was originally made by Gulzar and written by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas. Gulzar has already given the go ahead and is excited about the remake of the movie. In fact, Gulzar will be chipping in with lyrics, dialogue and screenplay. At the moment, Sircar is busy looking for a girl to play the lead. The only actor that is finalised is Upen Patel, who will play an army man. The film will go on the floors in November.
Meanwhile, Sircar’s recent venture, Shoe Bite, that was retitled Johnny Mastana, with Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, has not yet been released even though the shooting is complete. Whether Abhishek will reprise Vinod Khanna’s role, remains to be seen.

Saif Ali Khan’s Vision Agent Vinod Finally Goes On Floors
Talking about the first shoot of this action drama said Saif Ali Khan "I shot some action scenes which involved me doing some high jumps and rolling down a staircase. It was all done for real without any wires. I reached home on Sunday morning all bruised. And to think that it is just the beginning,"
The following shoots for Agent Vinod are scheduled to be filmed in Morocco, Amsterdam and Pakistan.
Saif Ali Khan who took time out to make sure no stones were left unturned while the blueprint of the film shaped up has often referred to Agent Vinod as being “his kind of movie”.
Clearing the air about the so called cuts in budget clarifies Saif “There has been a lot of speculation about the project and its budget. I have stuck to what was originally planned and it stays true to my vision”

Your favorite ITEM songs!
First off - what exactly does Item song mean? People think it means a song that is otherwise not integrated into the story, it is just an isolated item. BUT that is NOT the case. Item is a bastardization of the term Atom - the girl dancing was supposed to be an Atom Bomb - hence ITEM song. The songs evolved from cabaret numbers where the dancing lady was usually a vamp or side character, and turned into full fledged interludes usually not relevant to the film. I LOVE ITEM SONGS! So it is hard to pick my top 10 favorites but I will try. Here goes:
1. Madhuri - Choli ke Peeche kya hai! There is a reason why Rahman chose this one to pay tribute to in Ringa Ringa from Slumdog Millionaire. The decadent lyrics and voice matched by an outstanding performance from the Dhak Dhak girl.
2. How can one forget Helen? One of my favorite Helen numbers is Baithe Hain Kya uske paas! Helen in a red rooster dress on the bar, Anju Mahendru on the floor - outstanding!
3. Bachchan parivar ka tarana - Kajrare - yes, it is fantastic! The trio have a wonderful chemistry, and Aish looks stunning!
4. Beedi - the composition is fantastic and Bipasha stuns with her sultry dance moves, ably assisted by the guys cutting loose!
5. Next up is Helen again - O Haseena Zulfon Waali - ICONIC song and dance, not to be missed, the fact that it has Shammi Kapoor is an added bonus!
6. Heck I might as well get my Helen numbers out of the way - MONICAAAAAA O my darling! Remixed by the Kronos Quartet, loved by one and all, RD Buramn and Asha magic, and Helen on screen!
7. Crazy Bhojpuri and Hinglish - Dil Dance Maare from Tashan (Akshjay, Saif and Kareena in blond wigs). An Item song out of nowhere, and set nowhere, my absolute favorite!
8. Ishq Kameena - Aishwarya as the dream girl, SRK as the drifter, magical number!
9. Dhoom Machaale - people dislike Esha Deol, for me she reflects some of her mother's charm, and ROCKS here with Uday Chopra!
10. Mera Naam Hai Shabnam - pyar se log mujhe shabbo kehte hain!! Bindu gyrates to this number from Kati Patang.

SRK and Saif return as hosts of the Filmfare awards
Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan return as hosts of the Filmfare awards that are being held this week at the Yash Raj Studios, Andheri. Last year, Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan had hosted the gala after several folks thought that King Khan and the Chote Nawab had gone overboard with their Na-Real awards in 2008.
The duo had upset some sections of the film fraternity fuming with their mean, mean digs. This time, we wonder who will be the bakra of their jibes. Last heard, SRK was busy getting his script ready.
